An out-of-competition doping control that was planned and carried out by the CADF on 31 July 2018 on the Belarusian rider Kanstantsin Siutsou returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for Erythropoietin*. The rider was provisionally suspended by the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) and a press release was published on the UCI website (http://www.uci.org/inside-uci/press-releases/uci-statement-on-kanstantsin-siutsou). * Erythropoietin is classified as “Peptide Hormones, Growth Factors, Related Substances and Mimetics (S2)” as per the World Anti-Doping Prohibited List
Aigle, Switzerland, July 4th, 2018 – Today, the Cycling Anti-Doping Foundation (CADF), the independent organisation mandated by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to define and manage the fight against doping in cycling, announced its strategy for the 2018 Tour de France starting on Saturday 7th July, which will be implemented in close cooperation with the Agence Française de Lutte contre le Dopage (AFLD), the National Anti-Doping Organisation of France.
An intelligence-led doping test was carried out by the CADF in collaboration with the AFLD (Agence Française de Lutte contre le Dopage) and the OCLAEPS (Office Central de Lutte contre les Atteintes à l‘Environnement et la Santé Publique) on March the 8th 2018 on the French Rider Rémy Di Gregorio during the UCI WorldTour race Paris-Nice. The test returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for Darbepoetin (dEPO)*. The rider was provisionally suspended by the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) and a press release was published on the UCI website (http://www.uci.ch/pressreleases/uci-statement-remy-gregorio/) * dEPO is classified as “Peptide Hormones, Growth Factors, Related Substances and Mimetics” as per the World Anti-Doping Prohibited List.”
