The CADF is delighted to communicate the appointment of Mr. Andy Parkinson as new member of the CADF Foundation Board.
Mr. Andy Parkinson is the Chief Executive Officer of British Rowing, having joined the organisation in this role in January 2015.
British Rowing is the home of the sport of rowing, responsible for participation in and the development of rowing in England and for the training and selection of individual rowers and crews representing Great Britain.
Prior to joining British Rowing, Andy was the first Chief Executive of the UK’s national anti-doping organisation, UK Anti-Doping, and was responsible for establishing UKAD as a leading organisation managing and promoting clean sport in the UK and internationally.
Previously, as Director of Drug-Free Sport at UK Sport, he took a lead role in planning and transitioning anti-doping responsibilities to UK Anti-Doping, while managing the UK’s national anti-doping programme and overseeing the 1 January 2009 implementation of major revisions to the World Anti-Doping Code.
Andy has worked in sport for more than 20 years, commencing his career as Manager Sport Services for Paralympics New Zealand after completing a Bachelor of Science in Sport (Science and Administration) degree at Nottingham Trent University in 1991. During this time he also held a number of positions in national and international sporting organisations, including President of New Zealand Wheelchair Rugby.
Andy is currently the Chairman of the International Paralympic Committee’s Taskforce to determine whether the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) has met the conditions for reinstatement following their suspension from the IPC before the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
